Description
We are in Volissos, the largest village of northwestern Chios, at a road distance of 42 kilometers away from the city of Chios.
The film opens with a woman who comes towards the camera holding a large fish in her hand. The lens stays on the woman for a while and then shows us shots of the village’s traditional coffee house which is located in Christ square. We see three old men sitting and chatting with one of them smiling and afterwards, a different group of friends, consisting of three women and a man.
The shots from the traditional coffee house continue with the filmaker focusing on an elderly woman and her company, who first smiles at him, eats and then chats with a woman. The lens continues to show us groups of people who sit in the cafe as its attention is stolen by two little girls, one of whom is eating something.
The film closes with a group of smiling women and a small boy standing in front of the camera and eating ice cream.
