The film starts with a view of the bronze statue of the great Venetian playwright Carlo Goldoni, which is surrounded by a low wrought iron fence and is located in the small square of San Bartolomeo, a short distance from the huge St Mark's Square (aka Piazza San Marco).
Afterwards, we see the facade of the Cathedral of Saint Mark known as St Mark's Basilica, the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Venice.
We see many tourists in the big square, buildings, architectural masterpieces, a small passage from the St Mark's Clocktower (Torre dell'Orologio) and again the marble decorated facade of the cathedral, its arches, the turrets, the peristyle.
The square is full of tourists who shop. Among them the filmmaker's wife.
