Description
We are located in Syntagma Square in the center of Athens.
A family gets off a taxi. In the background are the neoclassical buildings under demolition of the building block Nikis - Mitropoleos - Ermou streets, in the place of which the Ministry of Finance was later erected.
The family, along with other excursionists, are preparing to board a bus that will take them to Pasalimani. There was the departure point of the ship line Hydra - Spetses - Nafplio, which was operating the hydrofoil ship "EXPRESS", as written on a plate on the bus.
Then, the bus runs on Vasilissis Amalias Avenue and the film maker records the remaining columns of the important Temple of antiquity, which was dedicated to Zeus (Temple of Olympian Zeus). Outside the precinct of the Olympieion, we find the Hadrian's Gate, an honorary marble arch, a sign of gratitude to the emperor Hadrian for his numerous works in Athens. We also see part of the wall that surrounded the Olympieion.
