We are on the sandy beach of Vai, in the prefecture of Lasithi, east of Crete. Vai beach is surrounded by a forest of palm trees, covering an area of about 250 acres. The filmmaker gives shows us their impressive peaks.
A group of four men talk by the sea wearing their swimsuits. Next to them, there is a boat that is pulled into the shallows. More and more people gather, an inflatable boat is pulled on the beach.
We see parked cars at the end of the access path to the beach as well as a tent among the palm trees.
The light is slowly fading away as visitors stay to enjoy the exotic place, the sun is setting among the largest colony of palm trees in Europe.
The filmmaker and his family depart. The film ends with views of the sunset and the nearby Monastery of Toplou in the background.
