Description
We are on the rocky cape Sounion (60 meters above sea level), at the southern tip of the prefecture of Attica.

In the area, there was a temple that was dedicated to the god Poseidon, the ruins of which we see. The impressive columns are Doric Order, 6.1 meters high and parts of the superstructure and the crepidoma.

Crowds of visitors wander by the colonnade, but also around the temple among the ruins. Many of them pose for commemorative photos next to one of the most important ancient monuments of Attica. We see close-ups shot of the marble columns with the flutings and the plain architraves.

A panoramic shot captures the cove that creates the cape with land, boats, fishing boats in the calm waters, surrounding hills and ridges that encircle the area.
