We are in the Prefecture of Evros which is located at the northeastern tip of Greece.
The film opens with the Prefecture’s road sign. We see the lush landscape in which we can stand out the river Evros, the second largest river in SE Europe (after the Danube), and the main river in the Balkan Peninsula, with a total length of about 530 km.
The camera focuses on a turtle sitting in the middle of the road and a man who puts it back in the forest. Afterwards, we see a carriage which is led by two oxen and a man who guides them, as well as a dog follows them. The filmmaker shows us views of the river and the rich vegetation. The carriage with the oxen comes towards the camera and then the man stands for a while and talks to the passengers of a car that have stopped right next to him.
The film closes with a road sign that informs us that we are in Orestiada and with a billboard of the hotel “Vienna”.
