Description
We are on the Diakopto-Kalavryta railway route, more widely known “Odontotos”. It is a narrow gauge rack railway in Achaia that connects Diakopto with Kalavryta.
The film opens with shots of the area and the mountains standing out in the background. A man looks at the camera, which records him from above and smiles at her. The lens focuses on a blossoming almond tree and then on a street with children playing in the background. We see the square with quite a few people there and afterwards the train tracks as it leaves.
Shots of the journey follow, from inside the moving train with the filmmaker sometimes showing us the verdant landscape, sometimes the mountains and sometimes the railway tracks.
The film closes with a short shot from inside the train carriage as well as shots of the mountain village of Kato Zachlorou which is built at an altitude of 623 meters on the slopes of one of the mountain masses that surround the Vouraikos river gorge, with the people has come down to admire the scenery while behind them we see the stopped train.
