Description
We are in Agios Nikolaos, the capital of the Prefecture of Lasithi which is located on the northern coastline of Crete, on the western side of the bay of Mirabello. It is built on and around five hills, next to the mouth of the Xeropotamos stream and around the small lake Voulismeni.
The film opens with a shot of the town. The filmmaker shows us the fishing boats that are moored in Lake Voulismeni, a small lagoon which is located in the center of the city of Agios Nikolaos with a diameter of 137 meters and a depth of 48.8 meters and is connected to the town's port by a canal opened in 1870.
