One of the most famous monuments of Kalamata City which is directly connected to the revolution of 1821, is the historic Church of the Holy Apostles. It is located in the "23rd of March" Square which has taken its name from the date on when Kalamata was liberated from its Turkish conquerors.
In the film, the church is portrayed in its original form, as 20 years later, on September 13, 1986, much of it collapsed during an earthquake. In the following years the church was restored to its original form.
