The film opens with footage from the paved Eleftherios Venizelos Square-formerly known as Syntrivani (Fountain) and as (Maurovounio) Montenegro Square-where Venizelos was delivering his political speeches. A horse-drawn carriage moves inside the square, passes in front of Zambeliou Street and Chalidon Street, leaving behind a building that was bombed by the Germans.
Afterwards, we see shots from Akti Tombazi with the majestic Mosque Kioutsouk Hassan or Giali Tzamisi (17th century) dedicated to Kioutsouk Hassan Pasha and the Nautical Museum of Crete is visible on the background at the beginning of Angelon Street. Then, we see panoramic shots of the Venetian port starting from Giali mosque to the Venetian fortress Firkas.
Back to the Fountain Square and just after that, the lens follows a carriage which stops in front of the old Imaret (house for the poor) then housing the old "Caprice" and the historic tavern "Kavouras".
The tour continues with shots through the alleys of the city where the architecture of the buildings impresses. We see a mixture of Cretan, Ottoman and Venetian elements.
