People walking, city traffic. At Lake Geneva is one of the largest fountains in the world, the Jet d’Eau (it sprays water to a
height of 140 metres). Originally it was part of a hydraulic power network for water from the Rhône river. The pressure of the water forced engineers to install a safety valve in the centre of the lake to relieve the pressure.
