We are in Ptolemaida, a town of Kozani Regional Unit in western Macedonia and the seat of the municipality of Eordaia, in Greece. It is about 28 kilometers away from Kozani.
The film opens with shots of the route while the car is in motion. The filmmaker and his company have stopped just outside the Lignite steam-electric power plant and show us with a panoramic shot the area with cars of that era as well as the power plant that stands out in the background.
The first steam-electric power plant, which also contributed to the economic development of the wider region, was created by the government of Konstantinos Karamanlis (1955-1963). In the 1950s, huge amounts of lignite were discovered underground and since then the area has become the largest lignite mining center in the country.
Afterwards, the two women admire the landscape and the filmmaker shows the second man of the group who is also filming with his camera. The film closes with footage of the route and as the car goes further, the closer it gets to the factory.
There are currently four lignite mines operating at the Ptolemaida - Amyntaio Lignite Center: the Notio Pedio Mine, the Kardia Mine, the Kyrio Pedio Mine and the Amyntaio Mine (including the mine in Florina).
