Description
We are on Oxford Street, a major road in the City of Westminster in the West End of London, running from Tottenham Court Road to Marble Arch via Oxford Circus. It is Europe's busiest shopping street, with around half a million daily visitors.
The film opens with footage from the street with cars and a sign which informs us that we are on Oxford Street at the Bond tube station, known as the "London Underground”. We see English cabs of that era, people who pass by and double-decker buses in the background.
A shop with the HORNES sign behind a man with a mustache, crowds of people come and go for their activities as well as two police officers with the Westminster National Bank building behind them.
The film closes with the street traffic and a young man watching it.
