Description
We are in Kastanies, a large plain town of the regional unit of Evros in Greece.
The film opens with a road sign that informs us that at 18 km on the left is Kastanies and Turkey. We see a panoramic shot of a lush landscape with lots of cattle. Afterwards, we arrive at Kastanies and the camera focuses on one more sign that informs us that on the left side is the village of Rizia whereas on the right is Turkey. We watch a short shot of the customs office at the border.
The filmmaker stands on a stork sitting on top of a tree’s trunk that has set up its nest. The stork flies off and the camera follows its course.
We then see a field and the cattle that are grazing there. We watch for a while the animals as well as a cow that bathes and slowly comes out of the water. The view changes and the filmmaker shows us a woman from the village and then a man next to a chapel.
The film closes with many shots of the lush landscape with its rich vegetation as well as the river Ardas.
