We are in Lubumbashi, formerly Elisabethville, the second largest city in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, located in τηε country's southeasternmost part, along the border with Zambia.
The film opens with shots of the zoo where the filmmaker is and the place where the monkeys are kept. Afterwards, we see the Congo peacocks and crocodiles. A woman watches, feeds and plays with the monkeys and then the camera moves to the okapi, an artiodactyl mammal of the Giraffe family that lives exclusively in the rain forests of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The zoo footage continues with a chimpanzee and little pigs. Two men play with the monkeys and then the filmmaker stands on the peacocks. We see a leopard in its cage and a general shot of the area. People stands outside the cage with the zebras and feeds them as afterwards, the woman and man of the group feed the ostriches.
The recording continues with a short shot of a lemur and the camera pans to the smiling man as he approaches it. General shots of the place with the couple wandering follow as well as a distant shot of - presumably - deer. We get back to the monkeys and the ostriches with the woman feeding them.
The film closes with people petting the zebra and views of the zoo.
