Traffic on Rome’s main streets.
Shots of Arch of Constantine. Details of round reliefs from the frieze which has been replaced and the
arches of the monument.
The camera lens turns to the Colosseum. A few shots of the outer perimeter with the arches and the columns whose order changes every storey (all three Greek orders were used) and views of the inside.
The rings are joined by arches so as to create a natural downward slope towards the arena for the seats.
Shots of the Forum (in the distance are monasteries); the Arch of Septimus Severus; the Arch of Titus; the three remaining columns of the Temple of Castor and Pollux; statues of the Vestal Virgins, and finally, a close-up shot of the Arch of Titus.
The film ends with shots of the Fontana di Trevi.
