We are in the second largest square in the world after Beijing's Tian'anmen Square, Naqsh-e Jahan Square or Imam Square (formerly Shah) was built between 1598 and 1629. It is 160 metres wide by 560 metres long (an area of 89,600 square meters) with an adornment of many flowers and an oblong fountain in the middle.
Around the square, it has two-storey arches that connect the four buildings of the Imam Mosque (or Shah) and separate the square from the city.
In the film, we watch footage of the mosque's main triple prayer hall, the arches, the square's fountain, crowds of people walking in it, cyclists and cars that move on the streets of the square along the arcade.
