Description
The historic monastery of Panagia Kera or Kardiotissa is one of the most important monastic complexes in Crete.
Footage from a car on the road, we see various buildings, a tavern covered in green, with the menu written on a sign, two road signs with two directions "Heraklion" and "Ierapetra - Sitia", next to the "STOP" sign.
Arriving in a village we see an old woman in a black headscarf, a donkey with a rider, an old truck, a small herd of loaded donkeys, a goat, a girl looking at the village with the traditional houses.
On a wall the slogan "Americans OUT" is written, under the road sign to Panagia Kera the slogan "Out of NATO", next to it a small roadside memorial.
Then we see a field, where a farmer shakes the wheat to separate the grain from the reeds and waste.
