Description
Platres is a community of the province of Limassol in Cyprus and is built at an altitude of 1100 meters above sea level.

The film starts from the turn of a road, a car goes down to that road and we see other cars parked. Alongside the road we see buildings older and more recent.

A view of the man who hosts the filmmaker, Evagoras.

Afterwards views from the village, we see a tourist shop with its products hung on the exterior walls, the sign of a restaurant called RIZANI and in the end the camera focuses on a carpet that is on display in a storefront, depicting dogs playing billiards.

Then views of blooming lilacs, we pass on a pine-covered slope from where we have a panoramic view of the village, but also the dense forest and the lush vegetation that surrounds the village.

Then, views of a Venetian stone bridge, a spring that seems to be coming from high altitude and a beautiful view of blooming almond trees.

Creator's description

The village of Platres: our host, Evagoras. Photini had stayed in his hotel on her last visit to Cyprus, over 30 years ago. But the village has changed dramatically since then: now it is full of tourist shops and restaurants.

The slopes of Troodos are covered with forests, mostly pine trees. Little streams carry down the last of the melting snow.

Here and there we catch a glimpse of an almond tree in full bloom.
