The film opens with shots from Izmir Cumhuriyet Square in Izmir, Turkey, where we have shots of the equestrian statue of Kemal Ataturk.
We continue to the waterfront where we watch the calm waving of the sea, the port's pier with the small lighthouse and the naval health center and we leave behind a naval vessel continuing the tour in the city.
Views from an old mansion with a closed glass balcony, as the company smiles in front of the camera. The cinematographer continues to film from the waterfront of Smyrna, stands on a Turkish "kiose" (small covered or not, wooden balconies) and passes by a poster of the smiling Dario Moreno (composer, lyricist, actor, singer, guitarist).
Then we are transferred to Yali Cadessi in Karşıyaka (former Kordelio). Footage from old neoclassical mansions as the company approaches two camels with muzzles carrying items.
The film closes with memories, as the family find themselves in front of Athanasoglou's paternal home, from which he was forced to leave in 1922 during the Asia Minor Catastrophe.
