Dimitris Papadimos was born in Volos, Magnesia in 1945 and grew up in Athens. He studied Surveying Engineering at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.). From the age of his student years and onwards, he was involved in non-professional cinema, shooting 8 mm film.
An anxious spirit beyond his professional career - 39 years in major infrastructure projects (Kirfi tunnel of Mornos aqueduct, Aktio-Preveza Underwater Link, Egnatia Odos) as Chief Surveyor, Construction Manager, Supervising Civil Engineer etc. participated in a number of social and political activities.
From 1982 to 1991, he was the director of the Center for Marxist Research and the editor-in-chief of the magazines "Scientific Thought" and "Local Government and Society" with plentiful articles.
He loved the mountains and nature and participated in the Mountaineering Association of Preveza where he was President of the association (1995-2000).
He promoted, as well, every effort for the establishment and reopening of the Cinema Club of Preveza and was elected a member of the Board and President of 2014-2019 as well as a member of the Board of Federation of Greek Film Clubs.
His other great love for music was due to his involvement with the Municipal Radio of Preveza as a Radio producer with two shows-the "For an insignificant reason" and the "sweet movie". In addition, for the same reason he was involved with the Preveza Jazz Festival as a founding member and for a number of years a member of the Board.
He passed away in 2021.
The 19th Preveza Jazz Festival was dedicated to his memory.
